Lisa's Brownie Caramel Walnut Pie

What's better than a gooey brownie?
Well, a Brownie Caramel Walnut Pie of course!

This is actually only the second time
I have made this pie in YEARS...

I forgot exactly just how wonderful it was!

We enjoyed it at work this week
and there were NO left overs!

Bet you won't have any left overs either :)

½ c. chopped walnuts
20 caramels, unwrapped
1 - 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

In small saucepan, over low heat,
melt caramels with 2/3 c. sweetened condensed milk.
Spoon over walnuts.

In mixing bowl, combine egg, margarine
and remaining milk; mix well.

Stir in chips.

Pour chocolate mixture over caramel layer.

Bake 35 minutes or until center is set.  Cool.

The yummy ingredients...

In a saucepan over low heat,
melt the caramels and condensed milk...

Sprinkle the walnuts in your pie crust...

Every now and then, stir the caramel...

In a small bowl, combine melted butter,
remaining condensed milk and the egg...

Stir until combined...

Add the chocolate chips and pop in the microwave
for about 30 seconds...

Stir until all chocolatey...

Stir that caramel again...

Pour that smooth, creamy caramel over the nuts...

Wowzers!!!

Next pour the chocolate mixture over the caramel...

Mmmm...

Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes...

Cool completely and serve at room temperature.
If you refrigerate, the caramel will be too hard.
Enjoy!
