Broccoli Craisin Salad

This is a little twist on the original Broccoli Salad recipe--
I love adding the dried cranberries instead of raisins
and the toasted sunflower seeds give it an extra little crunch!

 Broccoli Craisin Salad

1 bunch broccoli, chopped small
1/2 cup toasted sunflower seeds
1 cup Craisins
6 slices bacon cooked, cooled and crumbled

Dressing:
1 cup mayo
1/4 c sugar
2 TBSP cider vinegar

Chop the broccoli in small pieces--I don't use the stalk.
Place in a large bowl.

Toast the sunflower seeds and set aside to cool.
Cook the bacon pieces, cool and crumble.
Pour the sunflowers, bacon pieces and the Craisins
in the bowl with the broccoli.

Mix the dressing ingredients and pour
over the broccoli mixture; mix well.

Refrigerate a few hours or best overnight.

The delicious ingredients...

Toast your sunflower seeds until slightly brown...

I like my fresh broccoli in small pieces...

My Momma is tearing the broccoli for me...

She said not to get a picture of her "old hands"--
but I love her hands :)

 Pour the Craisins in next...

Add the toasted sunflowers...

Crumble the bacon and add it in...

Mix up your dressing ingredients...

Pour it over the broccoli mixture...

Give it a good stir to combine well.
The flavors get better and better the longer you refrigerate it.
