Cabbage Roll Skillet

I've always wanted to make a Cabbage Roll Casserole--
you know...where you blanch the cabbage leaves,
make the stuffing, roll it up in the leaves,
put them in your casserole dish,
put a sauce over them and bake...whew!
That's what has stopped me every time!
But, when I saw this idea, I was excited to simplify
the whole process into one skillet...
it was delicious :)

Cabbage Roll Skillet

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tsp Morton's Nature Seasoning
1/2 large cabbage, cut into small pieces
1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
2 cups crushed tomatoes
3 cups beef broth
1-2 tsp Paprika

Brown beef with the onions, garlic and seasoning.
Drain and add back to skillet.
Stir in remaining ingredients and stir to combine.
Cover with lid and bring back to a boil.
Reduce heat to simmer and let cook for 30-45 minutes,
until rice is done an cabbage is soft.

    The yummy ingredients...

     Chop the onions...

     Dice the cabbage...

Brown the beef with the onions, garlic and seasonings...

Drain and add back to your skillet...

     Add the beef broth...

     the tomatoes....

     the rice...

the Paprika and a tad more of the Morton's Nature seasoning...

     Stir in the lovely cabbage...

    yum!
Cover and cook about 35-45 minutes...

     Most wonderful!

I think it would be great with Spanish Rice added
instead of plain rice and maybe some cheese as well.
