"Not sure, Kaia..why?"
"It looks weird," that precious dumpling states and then exits from the kitchen.
Of course, I have just returned from the harrowing grocery gathering experience at Walmart, on a Friday, none the less, so I'm thinking I may just look like I have just stuck my head in a blender.
I do stop unloading the groceries for a minute to check myself in the mirror, expecting a "do" looking like the bride of Frankenstein.
And.......I look pretty good!
Especially for making the trek across the Walmart from one end to the other a couple of times, dodging family reunions in the aisles and patiently waiting on the lady who is hogging the cheese display while she reads every label on each of the 500 packages.
Does anyone else besides me need a Xanax before a weekend Walmart experience?
But back to the baby...isn't she just precious!
This reminded me of the time my sister, Chrissy was putting on her face cream and makeup and her little granddaughter was watching. She asked Chrissy what it was all for.
"To make me look pretty," my sister answered. "Is it working?"
"Not yet," that sweet angel replied. They can really keep a Grandma in check, can't they?
Well, today, Kaia and I want to share our Apple Dumplings recipe that
we made last week. It's quick and oh, so delicious (especially topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!)
Apple Dumplings
2 apples of your choice
1 can crescent rolls
1 stick of butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
12 oz Mountain Dew
2 tsp cinnamon
Peel and cut apples into wedges.
Wrap each wedge in a crescent triangle.
Place crescents in baking dish.
Melt butter and stir in sugar.
Pour over crescents in pan.
Next pour Mountain Dew over the top and sprinkle with the cinnamon.
Bake 350 degrees 40 minutes. Top with ice cream and enjoy!
