2 (8 oz) pkgs refrigerated crescent rolls
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp almond extract
21 oz. can cherry pie filling
Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2-3 teaspoons milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Unroll
crescent dough and arrange 12 of the triangles
in a circle with wide
ends toward the outside edge.
Press together the seams.
Combine the cream cheese,
powdered sugar,
egg & almond flavoring and spread over dough.
Top with pie
filling.
Take the last rectangle of the crescents and cut them into
4 strips for each rectangle and then in 1/2 again.
You'll have 8 strips that you'll twist and lay over the cherries
from the side to the middle of the crust.

Arrange over filling evenly in spoke-like pattern.
Press ends to seal at
center and outer edges.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool slightly.

Mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth
and
drizzle over coffee cake.

The delicious ingredients...
You're going to start laying the 12 crescent triangles like this...
forming a complete circle...
Mush them all together like this...
Mix the cream cheese, egg, confectioner's sugar...
and almond flavoring...
until it's really creamy like this...
Spread the filling over the crust and
spoon the cherries on next...
Take the last rectangle of the crescents and cut them into 4 strips for each rectangle and then in 1/2 like this...
You'll have 8 strips that you'll twist and lay over the cherries from the side to the middle of the crust...
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes
until beautiful and brown...
Mix the milk and the confectioner's sugar until creamy...
Pour over the baked danish...
Wow! Brings back memories and it tastes
as amazing as it did years ago!
