Summer Velvets Trifle

My friend had a cake mix waiting for me when
I came into work this past week...
There's a great trifle recipe on the back of the box
and I just stepped it up a notch with a dreamy,
creamy, pudding layer and added blackberries
 and cherry pie filling...
Yum!

Summer Velvets Trifle

1 box Summer Velvets Cake Mix--bake as directed
but substitute milk for the water
1 small box instant French Vanilla Pudding
1 3/4 cup milk
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
16 oz cool whip, divided
1 can cherry pie filling
8 oz blackberries mixed with blueberry glaze
(usually by the fresh blueberries)

Bake the cake in the 2 cake pans as directed on box.
Cool and cut into squares.

Mix the pudding mix and milk; let sit for a couple of minutes.
Stir in the  sweetened condensed milk.
Fold in 8 oz of the cool whip.

In your glass bowl, layer 1/2 of the cake cubes,
1/2 the pudding mixture, 1/2 the fruit; layer again.

Spread remaining 8 oz cool whip on top.
Refrigerate before serving.

**You can use strawberries and blueberries if you wish--
for the cherries and blackberries.

**********

Bake the 2 cake mix layers as on back of the package...
I did substitute milk for the water in the list...

Let the 2 layers cool and cut into squares...

For the pudding layer, mix the pudding with the milk...

Whisk and let it sit a couple of minutes...

Then stir in the sweetened condensed milk...

and fold in the 8 oz of cool whip...

In a large pretty glass bowl...
Layer 1/2 the cake cubes...

1/2 the pudding ..

1/2 the cherry pie filling...

1/2 the blackberries...

The repeat the process again...
end with spreading 8 oz cool whip over the top
and decorate with a bit of the fruit...
Refrigerate until serving..
Festive, light & delish!!
