I'm not sure how this roast got it's name,
but it is most wonderful!
Put all these lovely ingredients in your slow cooker
and come home to a delicious meal.
You'll agree that it's a keeper :)
Mississippi Roast
1 3-5lb beef roast
1 pkg dry Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg Au Jus mix
1 stick of butter
5 pepperoncini peppers
Put the roast in crock
pot.
Sprinkle with Hidden Valley ranch dressing,
add the Au Jus
mix, the stick of butter,
and the 5 pepperoncini peppers.
Cook
on low for 7-8 hours.
The wonderful cast of characters...
Put the roast in your crock pot and sprinkle with the Au Jus mix...
The ranch dressing mix...
Place that lovely stick of butter on top...
Place the 5 peppers on next...
When you come home, it will look amazing like this...
I took it out, shredded it and then
I put it back in the wonderful gravy
it had cooked in all day....
It was delish!
I'm really over helping that sweet man
move his worldly belongings...
We, of course, look at moving things differently...
and I must say, my way is the right way and his is not! :)
Maybe it's because I've moved so many times,
that I'm not really attached to "things" anymore...
He really is getting better at this part, but when we're still having to move VHS tapes, he's really not quite "there" yet!
Anyway, I reluctantly tagged along the other evening
when he was cleaning out his last shed...
I try not to whine...
really...
sigh...
sigh...
I was helping to load numerous boxes
that I had marked "miscellaneous" a couple of years ago ...
You know, after 100 boxes or so,
I had gotten tired of organizing
I had gotten tired of organizing
and just started tossing things in boxes
and taping them quickly...
"I'm not sure what 'miscellaneous' is," he stated,
"but I sure do have a lot of it!"
There was just one more corner to go,
and dusk was quickly falling...
I turned to ask him something as he picked up a basket,
and in the shadows, I watched a very long snake
slowly start to exit said basket...
We both saw it at the same time...
He threw the basket down, and we both ran rather quickly!
"You do know," I stated,
"when we get to the storage unit,
there's no way I'm unloading any of the boxes
that we have just put in that moving truck!"
"But you packed and taped up those boxes
a couple of years ago," he said.
"You didn't put any snakes in them!"
Yeah, that reasoning just won't work, mister!
Later, as it was approaching midnight,
And I had eaten the emergency granola bar
that I had excitedly found tucked away in my purse...
Don't you get excited when things like that happen too--
and you scarf that amazing find down
like you haven't eaten in days!
Well, after licking the melted chocolate off the wrapper,
I did find my bravery medal again...
I did find my bravery medal again...
Or maybe I was so in need of a hot shower
and my fluffy pillows...
I marched right up in that truck
and began to toss him boxes....
When I picked up the last one,
a very long snake skin floated to the floor....
Yes, I'm totally over moving...for a long, long while!
