Strawberry Lemonade

My wonderful daughter-in-law, Amy, loves lemonade and

my precious granddaughter, Kaia, loves strawberries...
so what could be better to combine them into a
delicious, summery, refreshing drink!

Just remember to make a day ahead to cool completely
to allow the flavors to develop to their finest!

Strawberry Lemonade

6 cups of water
2 1/2 cups chopped strawberries
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice--about 11 lemons

In a large saucepan, combine the water,
strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.
Bring to a boil and then let simmer about 10 minutes.
Let cool completely.

Strain through a sieve and discard the solids.
Refrigerate overnight.
Serve in pretty glasses and garnish with lemon slices.

Simple..yet promising...

In your saucepan, add the water, sugar and the slice strawberries...

I squeezed the lemons over the water with
the little squeezer thingey...
Any tool of your choice will be lovely...

Bring it to a boil and then simmer for 10 minutes...

Strain the juice and disregard the solid stuff...

It will look pretty and pink like this!  :)
Refrigerate overnight to let the flavors develop to utter deliciousness!

Put it in a pretty pitcher and garnish with a lemon slice...

And when your sister is distracted by the sprinkler...

You can steal her lemonade...

And you will be soooo proud of yourself!!  :)
