I love to bake, but yeast and I have always
struggled to like each other!
Well, Rhodes Rolls have entered my life and saved my sanity :) This was a wonderful recipe I tried using
the rolls and it was most wonderful!
Twisted Cinnamon Wreath
16 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
6 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons water
Spray counter lightly
with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine rolls and roll into an 11x20-inch rectangle.
Combine butter, sugar and cinnamon and spread over dough. Sprinkle pecans over the top.
Roll up tightly, jelly roll style, starting with a long side.
With a sharp serrated knife, cut roll in half lengthwise.
Turn each half so the cut side is facing up.
Carefully twist halves together so cut sides can be seen.
Form the twist into a circle and pinch ends together.
Place on sprayed baking sheet.
Cover with sprayed plastic wrap and let rise 30-45 minutes. Remove wrap and bake at 350°F 20-25 minutes.
Combine glaze ingredients and brush wreath while still warm.

The lovely ingredients...
and the butter that didn't make the above picture...sigh...
Spray the surface you're working on with non-stick spray...
Place the rolls like so and allow to thaw completely to room temperature...
When they're thawed, mush them down a bit with your hands...
With your rolling pin, roll the into the rectangle...
combine the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon...
Brush this mixture on the rolls...
Sprinkle the dough with the chopped pecans...
Roll the dough tightly...
using a serrated knife, cut the dough in half...
Lay each cut-side facing up...
then proceed to twist the dough into this shape...
Pinch the ends of the dough together and place on your baking sheet...
Spray a piece of saran wrap with non-cooking spray...
Let rise about 35-45 minutes...
Uncover and bake on 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes...
Frost with the glaze...
Mmmmm...
Delicious start to the day!
