Apple Cherry Pie

Two of my very favorite friends I work with in my department left this magazine copy on my desk the other day...
Yes, some days it just pays to show up to work!

Now wait...I was excited they were sharing too...
but, there was an actual sticky note on a page
that had a picture of an Apple Cherry Pie...

"I can't believe you two found a pie in the midst
of all these good looking guys!" I told them...

Well, there was no recipe to be found, but they were sure
I would be able to recreate it for them...
so Crystal and Titana...this one's for you...
We should probably name it The 2014 Most Sexiest Pie Recipe...:)

Apple Cherry Pie

1 Pillsbury Pie Crust
2/3 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup butter
2 Granny Smith apples
1/2 can cherry pie filling

In a medium bowl, combine the flour,
brown sugar and cinnamon.
Add butter and blend thoroughly using a pastry blender.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Place pie crust in pie plate.

Peel, core and dice apples.

Spread cherry pie filling over the apples.
Sprinkle flour mixture over apples and pie filling.

Bake 30-35 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
Remove from oven and cool slightly before serving.

 The cast of ingredients....

Peel and dice the apples and pour them into your pie crust...

Pour the cherry filling over next and I added
1 tsp almond flavoring...

Stir the filling gently with a spoon...

Mix the topping ingredients together with a pastry cutter...

Pour the topping on the fruit...

It ill be most gorgeous like this...

Bake at 400 degrees for 30-35 minutes...

Apple Cherry perfection!

Enjoy!
