Dorito Dinner Bake

Hee!  Hee!
But isn't it the truth??
Cheese just makes everything that much more wonderful!
I'll never forget talking to my daughter-in-law's Mom
right before Amy and Christopher got married.
Amy had never cooked very much but was an enthusiastic student!

Her Mom asked her, "Aren't you worried about learning to cook things that Christopher likes to eat?"

"Not really," Amy said, "whatever it is, if I just
throw some extra cheese on it, he'll love it!"

This reasoning has worked wonderfully for her
and she has turned into a most excellent cook as well!

Well, our recipe today has some wonderful cheese as an ingredient and if you want to throw on some more, it will be just fine!

Our favorite Dorito Dinner Bake would be a wonderful
quick and easy dinner idea for Friday or Saturday night!
.
If you have a large family, this recipe will do just fine.
If there's just a couple of you, like us, we love to break it up into smaller casserole dishes, about 3 or so, and freeze some for later.
It freezes well and we can pull it out for a quick dinner
when we don't have anything planned.
Love recipes like this and we hope you do too!

Dorito Dinner Bake

2 cups Doritos--we used the Taco Flavor,
but probably any flavor would be good

1 pkg taco seasoning

1 can rotel tomatoes

 1 can Mushroom Soup

1 can Fiesta Cheese Soup

1 onion, chopped

1 lb hamburger meat

2 cups shredded Mexican cheese

Saute' the onions and ground beef.
Drain and add back to the frying pan.
Add the taco seasoning, Rotel tomatoes, and soups.
Stir until combined and heated thoroughly
Place 1 cup of the crushed Doritos in the bottom
of your casserole dish.
Top with the meat mixture.
Place the remaining cup of crushed Doritos on top.
Place shredded cheese on next.
Bake 350 degrees until hot and bubbly.
It's great served as is, or with toppings such as sour cream, tomatoes and olives.

The Ingredients:

Saute' the onions and the hamburger meat...

The hamburger meat is missing in this picture,
but you understand...we've been through this before :)

Drain the meat/onion mixture...

Return it to the pan and add the package of taco seasoning.

Next, the Rotel tomatoes...

The Fiesta Nacho Cheese soup...

And the Golden Mushroom Soup...

Mmmm...this is gonna be great!

Stir it until combined and heated through...

Place 1 cup of the crushed Doritos in the bottom
of your casserole dish...

Next, pour in the meat filling...

Place the remaining 1 cup of crushed Doritos on top
and add the 2 cups of shredded cheese...

Bake 350 degrees for about 30-35 minutes
until all melted and bubbly...

It will look most delicious like this...

We topped ours with some sour cream, tomatoes and olives....
It was yummy!
