Buttermilk Pie

Now friends, it just can't get much southern than this...
our Buttermilk Pie :)

It's truly delicious, creamy and sweet...
and if you don't like buttermilk, don't worry,
you can't even detect it in the pie!

(But if you don't like buttermilk, what's wrong with you??)

My kids HATE it when they see me throw back
a nice cold glass--
hee hee--
there's nothing like it--
truly!

My daddy and grandaddy loved to eat leftover
crumbled cornbread in a glass with buttermilk poured over it--
another wonderful southern tradition :)

I usually make a large deep-dish pie but today
I wanted to try some tiny premade crusts to see
if they would work just as well and success!!

Buttermilk Pie

3 eggs

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 TBSP vanilla

1 stick butter, melted

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup Bisquick

Blend all ingredients well with mixer.

Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 350 for 30 minutes

The yummy ingredients...

Add the buttermilk to the eggs...

the sugar...

the Bisquick and the vanilla...

the melted butter...

and mix until well combined...

Now pour it into your deep dish pie crust...
or a bunch of tiny ones like I did...

You're going to bake the tiny ones about 8-10 minutes...
or the deep dish pie for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

 Cool just a bit....

and enjoy!
